Your rights regarding telephone and text message communications

What is TCPA?

The Telephone Consumer Protection Act (TCPA) is a federal law that protects consumers from unwanted telemarketing calls, text messages, and fax advertisements. HouseGini is committed to full compliance with TCPA regulations and respects your communication preferences.

⚠️ Express Written Consent

By providing your telephone number to HouseGini through our website, mobile app, or any other means, you expressly consent to receive telephone calls and/or text messages (SMS/MMS) from HouseGini, our service professionals, and partner companies at the number you provided. This includes calls and texts made using an automatic telephone dialing system (autodialer) or artificial or prerecorded voice messages.

Types of Communications

By providing your phone number, you consent to receive the following types of communications:

Service-Related Calls & Texts

  • Appointment confirmations and reminders
  • Service professional matching notifications
  • Estimated arrival times and service updates
  • Follow-up calls regarding completed services
  • Quality assurance and satisfaction surveys
  • Emergency or urgent service communications

Automated Calls & Messages

  • Automated appointment reminders
  • Automated service confirmations
  • Pre-recorded messages from service professionals
  • System-generated text messages (SMS/MMS)

Marketing Communications (Optional)

  • Promotional offers and discounts
  • New service announcements
  • Seasonal maintenance reminders
  • Educational content and tips

Who May Contact You

By providing your phone number, you consent to be contacted by:

  • HouseGini: Our customer service and support teams
  • Service Professionals: Licensed contractors in our network who are matched with your service request
  • Partner Companies: Trusted third-party partners who help us deliver services (e.g., payment processors, scheduling platforms)

Important: Service professionals in our network are independent contractors, not employees of HouseGini. They may contact you directly to schedule appointments, provide estimates, and coordinate service delivery.

Consent Scope

Your consent to receive calls and text messages:

  • Is not a condition of purchasing any goods or services from HouseGini
  • Applies to the specific phone number you provided
  • Covers calls and texts to wireless (mobile) and residential (landline) numbers
  • Includes autodialed and prerecorded/artificial voice messages
  • Remains in effect until you revoke consent (see "How to Revoke Consent" below)

How to Revoke Consent

You can revoke your consent to receive calls or text messages at any time using any of these methods:

For Text Messages (SMS/MMS)

  • Reply STOP to any text message you receive from us
  • Reply UNSUBSCRIBE or CANCEL to opt out
  • You will receive a confirmation message when you opt out

For Phone Calls

  • Email: optout@housegini.com with your phone number

Note: Revoking consent may limit our ability to provide certain services, such as appointment confirmations or emergency service notifications. Essential service communications may continue even after opt-out.

Do Not Call Registry

HouseGini respects the National Do Not Call Registry. However, by providing your phone number and expressly consenting to receive communications, you authorize us to contact you even if your number is on the Do Not Call Registry. This is because you have provided express written consent, which is an exception to Do Not Call rules.

If you wish to stop receiving calls, please use one of the opt-out methods listed above.

Mobile Phone Consent

By providing a mobile phone number, you specifically consent to:

  • Receive automated text messages (SMS and MMS)
  • Receive calls from automatic telephone dialing systems
  • Receive prerecorded or artificial voice messages

Message Frequency: You may receive approximately 2-5 service-related messages per service request, plus up to 4 marketing messages per month (if you opted in to marketing).

Message & Data Rates: Standard message and data rates from your wireless carrier may apply. HouseGini is not responsible for any charges from your mobile carrier.

Call Recording & Monitoring

For quality assurance, training, and legal compliance purposes, calls with HouseGini customer service representatives and service professionals may be recorded or monitored. By participating in a call, you consent to such recording and monitoring.

Third-Party Service Professionals

When you request a service through HouseGini, we connect you with independent contractors (service professionals) in our network. These professionals may contact you directly to:

  • Schedule appointments
  • Provide service estimates
  • Confirm arrival times
  • Follow up on completed work

Service professionals are independent businesses and may have their own communication policies. If you do not wish to receive communications from a specific professional, contact them directly to opt out.

Emergency Communications

Even if you opt out of marketing communications, we may still contact you regarding:

  • Emergency service requests you submitted
  • Critical safety or security issues
  • Urgent updates to scheduled appointments
  • Account security notifications
  • Legal or compliance matters

Your TCPA Rights

  • You have the right to revoke consent at any time
  • You can request to be placed on our internal Do Not Call list
  • You can file a complaint with the FCC if you believe your rights have been violated

California Residents

California residents have additional rights under the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA). You have the right to:

  • Know what personal information (including phone numbers) we collect
  • Request deletion of your phone number from our systems
  • Opt out of the "sale" of personal information (we do not sell phone numbers)
  • Not be discriminated against for exercising your rights

SMS Program Terms

By opting in to receive text messages from HouseGini:

  • You will receive appointment confirmations, service updates, and promotional messages (if opted in)
  • You can text HELP for help or STOP to cancel
  • Message frequency varies based on your service requests and preferences
  • Supported carriers include AT&T, T-Mobile, Verizon, Sprint, and most major U.S. carriers
  • Messages may be delayed or undelivered due to carrier issues beyond our control
